About Mere

A ring that reads the shape of your pulse, and a supplement that will be rebuilt from your nights every 30 days.

Why we're building this

The most expensive word in health is late. Late to notice a change. Late to ask a question. Late to adjust a habit that stopped working months ago.

Everybody is different. In one study of 800 people, the same meals raised blood sugar very differently from one person to the next (Zeevi et al., 2015). Mere does not measure blood sugar, but the lesson holds: advice written for the average person is a starting point, not an answer.

And the technology to read more of the body is arriving. A light sensor against the skin sees blood volume change with every heartbeat, and the shape of that wave carries information about the heart and blood vessels (Allen, 2007). An expert roadmap says the light sensors in wearables, used today mostly for heart rate, rhythm and sleep, have the potential to tell us much more about health and wellbeing (Charlton et al., 2023). We believe that should make health personal.

What Mere is

Mere Ring is a titanium alloy ring you wear to bed. Every night it reads the shape of your pulse, not just its rate: the rise, the peak and, where your pulse shows them, the notch and the echo. Along with heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen and sleep, it learns your normal over your first 14 nights. The app tells you, in plain English, what's steady and what's shifting.

Mere Formula, in development, will follow the ring: two supplement pods a day, built from about 30 nights of ring data, your check-ins and any labs you add, and rebuilt every 30 days. You'll see what changes, and why, before each box ships. The Formula is optional. The ring works on its own. Pregnant, nursing or on medication? Ask your doctor first.

Five years on the pulse

The pulse model behind Mere has been five years in development. It reads each night's pulse against your own normal, so what it notices is a change in you.

Old wisdom, new tools

People have read the pulse by touch for centuries, feeling for its depth, its strength and its rhythm. A practiced hand reads it for a few minutes. A ring can read it night after night.

We translated those traditional qualities into features a model can measure: how fast the wave rises, how stiff the vessels seem from its shape, how early its echo returns. The model learns them from your ring. Old wisdom asks the questions. Your nights supply the answers.

How we work

  • Readings free for life. Buy the ring once. No data subscription.
  • No streaks, no red alerts. Just what's steady, what's shifting and what's worth a look.
  • Your data is not for sale. We don't sell it or share it for advertising. Member health data will be stored in the US. Read our privacy notice.
  • Your doctor decides. Mere is a wellness product. The ring notices. Decisions about your health belong to you and your doctor.
  • We show our reasoning. Every pattern comes with what the ring saw. Every Formula ingredient, form and dose will be named, along with why it changed.
