Privacy policy
Last updated October 9, 2026. Plain English, because your information is personal.
This policy explains what this website and the Mere founding list collect today, what they don't collect, and the promises we're making for what comes next.
The short version.
- If you join the founding list, we keep your email address, a record of your consent, which signup form you used and when you joined. That's all the website asks of you.
- We set no cookies and run no analytics, ad trackers or third-party scripts.
- We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. We never have.
- The website doesn't ask for health data, payment details or photos. When the Free Reading and the app arrive, they'll ask for your explicit consent before collecting any health information or photos.
- You can see, correct or delete what we hold at any time. Write to info@merering.com.
Who we are
Mere makes a smart ring that reads the shape of your pulse every night, an app that explains what it sees in plain English, and a personal supplement now in development. We're preparing to launch in the United States. In this policy, “Mere”, “we” and “us” mean Quantumis LLC, a Virginia limited liability company that operates the Mere Ring brand.
This policy covers this website and the founding list. The ring, the app, the Free Reading and the Formula aren't live yet. Before any of them collects anything, we'll publish a privacy notice that covers it. Your use of the website is also governed by our Terms of use.
What we collect
When you join the founding list, we keep four things:
- Your email address. Stored once, in lowercase. If you join twice, nothing new is saved.
- Your consent. A record that you agreed to receive Mere launch updates, and which version of our consent wording was in use when you joined.
- Where you joined. Which signup form on the page you used.
- When. The date and time you joined.
All of it comes from you, whether you type your email yourself or ask a browser assistant to join on your behalf. Either way, it's the same signup, and it only goes through when you've agreed to receive Mere launch updates.
Keeping bots out. To limit each internet connection to five signups in each ten-minute window, our server turns your IP address and the current window into a one-way code, made with a secret key, and counts signups against it. Each counter works only for its own window, and expired counters are deleted the next time someone signs up. Our application doesn't store your IP address. A hidden form field, invisible to people, helps us turn away automated signups.
Server logs. Like any website, ours is delivered by hosting providers. They may keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request, to run and secure their networks.
When you write to us. If you email us, we receive your address and your message, and use them to reply.
What we do not collect
This website is quiet by design.
- No cookies. We set no cookies and don't use your browser's local or session storage.
- No analytics. We run no analytics tools, don't record your clicks and don't follow you across the web.
- No ads or tracking pixels. No third-party scripts, and your browser makes no calls to outside services. Even our fonts come from our own site.
- No payment information. Mere takes no payments today, and the website takes no card details.
- No health questions. We don't ask about your pulse, sleep or wellbeing, and there are no Reading answers to collect. The Free Reading isn't live yet.
- No photos. No hand or tongue images, and no uploads of any kind.
- Nothing more about you. We don't ask for your name, address or phone number. We don't buy information about you, or add to it from other sources.
How we use it
- To send the launch updates you asked for: when your free Reading opens, when orders open, and shipping timing.
- To keep a record of your consent.
- To keep the list free of bots and abuse.
- To reply when you write to us, and to act on your privacy requests.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We don't use your email to build a profile of you, and we won't use it for a materially different purpose without asking you.
How we share it
We share your information only with service providers that work on our behalf: those that host this website and store the list, run our email and, once we start sending updates, deliver them. They use it only to provide those services to us.
Beyond that, we would disclose information if the law requires it, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of people or of Mere. If Mere is ever part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, the list could transfer with the business. We'd tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, or with anyone for their own marketing. We never have.
How long we keep it
We keep your email and consent record while the founding list is active, or until you ask us to remove them. When the list has served its purpose, we'll delete it. If you'd like to keep hearing from us after launch, we'll ask you first.
If you unsubscribe, we may keep your email on a do-not-contact record, so we never write to you again by mistake. Rate-limit counters stop counting within ten minutes and are deleted the next time someone signs up. Emails you send us are kept as long as we need them to help you, or as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Your information is yours. Wherever you live in the US, you can ask us to:
- Show you. Tell you what we hold about you, and send you a copy in a format you can take elsewhere.
- Correct it. Fix anything that's wrong.
- Delete it. Remove you from the list and erase what we hold, except anything the law requires us to keep.
- Stop the emails. Leave the list at any time. Every update we send will include an unsubscribe link.
To make a request, email info@merering.com from the address you joined with. If you write from another address, we may ask you to confirm that the list address is yours. Someone you authorize can make a request for you. We may ask for proof that they act on your behalf, and confirm it with you.
We'll respond within 45 days. If we need longer, up to 45 more days, we'll tell you why before the first 45 days are up.
US state privacy laws
Several states give their residents specific privacy rights. These include California (the California Consumer Privacy Act), Colorado (the Colorado Privacy Act), Connecticut (the Connecticut Data Privacy Act), Virginia (the Consumer Data Protection Act) and Washington (the My Health My Data Act). Depending on where you live, they can include the rights to know, access, correct, delete and take a copy of your data, and to opt out of its sale, of targeted advertising and of certain profiling. We honor the rights above for everyone on the list, whether or not a particular law applies. Because the founding list is for a wellness product, we treat being on it as private: we use and share it only as this policy describes, and we never sell it.
We don't sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising or profile you, so today there is nothing to opt out of. The website works the same whether or not your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, because there is no selling, sharing or tracking for it to switch off. If that ever changes, we'll honor Global Privacy Control as an opt-out.
If we decline any part of a request, we'll explain why. You can appeal by replying to that email. We'll answer within 45 days and, if you're still not satisfied, tell you how to contact your state's Attorney General.
We will not discriminate against you for using any of these rights. We won't deny you service, charge you a different price or offer you a lesser experience because you asked.
Health information and the future app
This website doesn't ask for any health information. The Free Reading, the Mere app, the ring and the Formula will collect it when they launch: readings from your ring, your answers and check-ins, any labs you choose to add and, if you choose, photos of your hand or tongue.
Health information deserves more care. Before any of it is collected:
- A clear notice first. We'll publish a privacy notice that covers it, including the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy that Washington's My Health My Data Act requires, linked from our homepage.
- Your explicit consent. We'll ask clearly before collecting any health information, and again, separately, before sharing any of it. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Photos analyzed, then deleted. Hand and tongue photos will be analyzed and then deleted. We keep the result, not the image. Where laws on biometric information apply, such as Illinois's Biometric Information Privacy Act, we'll follow them, including a published retention schedule and your written consent.
- Never sold, never for ads. We won't sell your health information or use it for advertising.
- Shared on your terms. In a Mere circle, each person chooses what they share.
Mere is a wellness product, not a medical service. Read more in Health & wellness.
Children
Mere is made for adults. This website isn't directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has joined the list, write to info@merering.com and we'll delete their information.
Security
Collecting very little is the strongest protection we have. The website accepts new signups but never returns the list to anyone.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident ever affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
International visitors
Mere is designed for people in the United States. The website is served from cloud infrastructure around the world, so wherever you visit or join from, your information may be processed in the US and in other countries where our providers operate. Privacy laws there may differ from yours. Wherever you are, you can use the choices in this policy.
Changes to this policy
As Mere grows, this policy will too. When we change it, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email the founding list before it takes effect. We won't use information we already hold in a materially different way without your consent.
